My paintings explore the portrayal of time through the use of paint, color, and mark-making. I find great meaning in my physical environment in regard to the passage of time.
These scenes are frozen moments in a fast moving landscape. The subject matter is the portrayal of object analysis and the frequent realization of “The Aura of the Sublime.” An evanescent corridor of a construction site or the sun rise over a speeding highway.
I embrace the observation of a world separated between the dichotomy of that which appears when observed and the unseen: a reality out of a world that seems to be invisible when it's not being looked at. I think its important to look at things. In these moments, I long to capture the ethereal quality of being in the present.
