LORDSCIENCE UNIVERSAL:
David William Jones
Bio:

LORDSCIENCE UNIVERSAL is an internationally exhibiting artist  whose paintings are epic abstract explorations. These surreal landscapes push the materiality of paint within the dynamic of texture and space.  Lordscience has exhibited in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Germany with five solo shows in Colorado. In 2017, he won Best in Show, Representing The West: A New Frontier, Pueblo Colorado. He received his Masters in Painting from the University of Delaware and his B.F.A. from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, B.C.  He currently lives and works in his native state of Colorado.

Artist Statement:

Collectively my creations are an interwoven tapestry of patterns found embedded within the ancient cultures of Native America, India, and the Arabian Peninsula. As a painter, it is my greatest aim to evoke the spaces that cannot be perceived in totality through the transmogrification of dream and reality.

With Plato’s allegory of the cave in mind, my works explore the dichotomy between physical existence and illusion. By applying abstraction to the concept of a landscape, I investigate the metaphysical dynamics of the cosmos including: the manipulation of time, the limitations of ordinary observation, and that which is situated beyond the boundaries of perception.
